Well, let's begin at the very beginning, a very good place to start. Weed, also known as pot, marijuana, bud, trees, chronic, ganja, is, as indicated, a weed. Really, the only important part of the plant are the buds, the flowering female part of the plant. The leaves and stems contain minimal amounts of THC. When growing marijuana, it is also desirable to seperate all the male plants, because if the female plants are fertilized, then they beging to produce seeds, which detracts from production of THC. This technique produces sinsemilla. Higher quality buds, if you will. Its better for you. Moving on, the plant is flowered, mature. Ready to be harvested. The plants are cut, and must be dried. Like a fine wine, the aging/drying process is very important to the final product. Lack of proper air circulation will encourage the growth of mold spores, which is a terrible thing to put into your lungs. After it is dried, you have the final, smokable product. There are many ways to transfer the THC from the plant to your bloodstream. One of the more common ways is a blunt. Wherein a cigar, such as a Swisher Sweet (west coast) or Phillies Blunt (east coast) is split apart, emptied, replaced, and rolled back up. The blunt is then sparked, and passed around. Since you can't really smoke the entire thing, there is usually a little piece remaining, called a roach. This can be smoked with the aid of a roach clip, or in a bong/pipe.
