Report: http://globalmarijuanamarch.org/2005.php
May 7th some 100 people gathered in the city center in Jyväskylä, Finland to protest the unjust persecution of cannabis users. The protest was part of the annual Global Marijuana March tradition. There have been similar marches in other Cities in Finland for some years, but this was the first time the march was organized in Jyväskylä.
The day was warm and sunny, and the protesters were having a great time. With costumes, music and other decorations the march moved in carnival fashion through the crowded shopping streets of Jyväskylä. The protesters carried signs and shouted slogans calling for an end to the harassment of cannabis users and growers.
The march ended in a park where there were speeches and music. During the whole event the police were nowhere to be seen.
