Cannabis is an annual, dioecious flowering herb.The genus Cannabis contains three species, Sativa, Indica, and Ruderalis. Cannabis first originated in Central and South Asia, but has since been spread across and throughout the world. It is used for it's fiber, as it is the most versatile plant in the world. The matured, dried, flowering buds of the female plants are also used for recreational and medicinal reasons, due to their high content of the psychoactive chemical delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, more commonly referred to as THC.
